CBSE class 9 and 11 exams should be held online say students considering the fact that classes were not held offline throughout the year
CBSE class 9 and 11 exams will most likely be held offline for a large number of students across the country as schools have stopped online classes, and are now calling students into school campuses after the number of COVID-19 cases have started to decline. Almost all schools across the country have resumed offline classes towards the end on the academic year. Several schools have also announced their decision to conduct CBSE class 9 and 11 exams offline, which is being opposed by several students as classes were mostly conducted online throughout the year.
“I am a student of class 11.The whole year we were learning through online classes and it was a task to understand such complex topics. We have been giving online exams since the beginning of the year and it has not been easy for us. Now in the end they cannot just conduct offline exams as it has been so difficult for us to learn throughout the year and we have no practice too. They are just pressurising us and I feel so helpless right now. So they should conduct online exams for class 9 and 11 as we are not mentally prepared and not even prepared for offline exams. We should have fresh start from class 12,” said Ananya to Dataquest about CBSE class 9 and 11 exams.
Other students have also been requesting for authorities to postpone the decision to conduct offline exams and classes until students are vaccinated. “Please conduct CBSE class 9 and 11 exams online. We are not even vaccinated, so how can we go to school? Are exams important or the life of a person? CBSE must give an option between online and offline so the students or the parents can choose which one is better. Who will take the responsibility if we get infected by the virus?” said Sara Fatima, a class 11 student to Dataquest.
Several parents have also voiced a similar concern. “Why private schools are forcing us to send our children to school for offline examination? Why is there no option for online examination? We are not willing to send our children as it's dangerous for their health. Offline examinations are not much important than our children” says Shilpa.
Another student, who’s examination begins in the offline mode from 1 March, said “I am a student of class 11. My school is taking offline exams from 1 March, which is not fair as we have been studying through online mode throughout the year. It is like watching surgery on YouTube and performing it on a real person. Exams should be online if we studied whole year online,” says Yash about CBSE class 9 and 11 exams.
Most schools and colleges have reopened across the country from 14 February 2022. Considering the fact that it is the end of the academic year, most schools are hoping to hold the CBSE class 9 and 11 exams offline.
