CBSE board exams 2021, which are expected to be held in March next year, seem to have become a cause of worry for students and parents. While the schedule for the examinations is yet to be announced by the Central Board of Secondary education, students have been requesting the Government of India to postpone the examinations to May 2021 due to the fact that physical classes have not been conducted this year.

Students and parents have been claiming that online classes have not been able to impart the knowledge and clarity on subjects that are required to take examinations. “The CBSE Board Class 10 and 12 exams should be in May 2021 similar to other boards like Maharashtra and Gujarat as the students will get more time to study. And NEET should be in June or July so that there will be a gap for 1 month or more,” says a student Priyanshu Sharma.

“Respected sir, due to these online classes we are feeling unsatisfied with the learning. We require offline classes sir. Please postpone boards till June so that we will get enough time and will score good marks help us sir please,” says another student Piyush Tandale.

Some other students claim that they have not been able to attend online classes due to the lack of Internet connection. “Sir please at least think about children who are not able to attend online classes and are not able to afford mobile phones or laptops. If they are studying themselves then they really need time. Hope you'll understand the situation,” says a student like several others.

“Due to technical issues, online classes were not good for us students who have migrated to rural areas from pandemic and now the mental pressure. We're not even in a healthy state of mind and don't know what will happen. Postpone exams till May,” says another student.

With regard to this issue, Dr Ramesh Nishank Pokhriyal, Union Cabinet Minister for Education, has requested students and parents to share their concerns, and will be replying to their queries on 10 December 2020.
