CBSE board exams 2021 for 12th standard students may be postponed further or canceled depending on the COVID-19 situation in the country. This uncertainty, however, has become a cause of concern for 12th standard students who are hoping for more clarity on the examinations. While a section of students has been requesting for cancellation of exams, others are asking for information while claiming that the situation is causing them unnecessary panic and anxiety.
“Sir, most of the students are below 18, and attending examination will create a hub for this pandemic. So we are requesting you to cancel the board examination of class 12th as student lives matter the most,” says Gulshan Jha. Others have also been requesting the Government of India to not discriminate between students of classes 10 and 12.
Nevertheless, there are also a few students who are hoping that the board examinations will be conducted and are asking for more clarity on the dates. “I am Anita, I am in 12th class. As the pandemic situation is increasing day by day due to which board exams of 10th class will be canceled and exams of 12th class will be postponed. I know sir safety comes first, but sir it’s my humble request to you that please sir don’t cancel exams of 12th board exams. Although in this pandemic everyone faced lots of problems, postponing the exams will lead to the efforts of those who prepared all year getting wasted. It’s my humble request to you to not cancel the board exams sir,” said a student to Dataquest.
Now, the Central Board of Secondary Education has responded to one such student. To a student requesting the Ministry of Education to take a decision on CBSE board exams 2021 for 12th standard students soon, the board has responded saying “Dear students, do not worry, as already said the situation will be reviewed on 1st June.” With this response, it is clear that a decision on the conduct or cancellation of the CBSE 12th board exams 2021 can only be expected after 1 June. Students are advised to keep their preparations ready as fresh dates will be announced only 15 days before the examinations will be conducted.
