CBSE board exam 2021 for 12th standard students should be canceled as well, say parents and students while stating that the pandemic situation may not improve any time in the near future. The Ministry of Education announced its decision to cancel board exams for students of 10th standard, and postpone the examinations for students of the 12th standard.
“The situation will be reviewed on 1 June 2021 by the Board, and details will be shared subsequently. A notice of at least 15 days will be given before the start of the examinations,” said the Government of India with regard to conducting examinations for 12th standard students. Although this decision is being appreciated by several notable personalities who had been campaigning for postponement and cancellation of examinations, some students are requesting the Government to cancel examinations for 12th standard students as well.
“We need justice. If you have canceled class 10 examinations, please cancel CBSE boards for class 12 also. We don't have much time. Think about our future also,” wrote a student to the Education Minister. “Sir please don't do discrimination between 10th and 12th students as they too are of the same category. Please you either take online exam on the scheduled date or cancel the exam and promote the students so that they can think about their further studies,” says another student.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who had been requesting the Government of India, to cancel the CBSE board exam 2021, said: “Glad the government has finally cancelled the 10th standard exams however a final decision MUST be taken for the 12th grade too. Keeping students under undue pressure until June makes no sense. It’s unfair. I urge the government to decide now.”
Another point that is being put forth by students is that postponing CBSE board exams for 12th standard students may make it difficult for them to take other competitive examinations like JEE Mains, NEET, and UGC NET. Nevertheless, students will now have to wait until June 2021 for a decision on the CBSE board exams for students of 12th standard.
