The slowing down of Canon India's growth rate was due to the negative growth of 48% in its software exports business. Its domestic business for the previous year, however, grew by a comfortable 20%. Peripherals continued to be the largest contributor to Canon's revenues in 2003-04. A series of digital cameras were also added to the Canon portfolio in the previous year.
