CA Technologies has completed the acquisition of privately-held Arcot Systems for $200 mn in an all-cash transaction. Arcot solutionsdelivered as a on-premise software or as a cloud service, also build on CA Technologies cloud security strategyhelps accelerate the companys delivery of IAM solutions as a comprehensive service from the cloud.

AOL to Acquire TechCrunch for $30 mn

AOL has agreed to acquire the popular technology blog and network, TechCrunch, as it tries to remake itself into a web entertainment and news powerhouse. The value of the transaction is about $30 mn. AOL will buy the influential technology blog as well as its conference division from its founder, Michael Arrington.

IBM to Buy Network Company, Blade

IBM announced its decision to buy Blade Network Technologies, a privately-held company that specializes in data center switches, as large technology vendors compete to offer broader and more advanced technologies for corporate data centers. The price of the deal has not been disclosed. A week before this acquisition, the company announced that it has decided to buy the data analytics company, Netezza Corporation for $1.7 bn. It plans to spend about $20 bn in acquisitions till 2015.

KPIT Cummins Acquires the US Based CPG Solutions

KPIT Cummins Infosystems announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the US based CPG Solutions, a provider of premium Oracle consulting services to manufacturing and supply chain companies. The agreement is for a total consideration of `60 crore which includes a guaranteed consideration of `27 crore and a milestone based consideration of `33 crore, the payment of which would be made over a period of three years.

EarthLink to Buy ITC Deltacom for $191 mn

Internet services provider, EarthLink announced that it has decided to buy fiber optics network company, ITC Deltacom for about $191 mn in cash to expand its footprint in the south-eastern United States. Deltacom currently serves over 32,000 small and mid-size businesses, government agencies and wholesale customers and owns 16,400 miles of fiber-optic network.

Motorola Buys Aloqa

Smartphone maker, Motorola acquired Munich based Aloqa, which makes softwares that allow users to find relevant web content using users location and social context. This acquisition will add to Motorolas Motoblur platform, which allows users to access social networking sites along with emails, news and favorite applications. However, terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

CSC aquires Vulnerability Research Labs

CSC announced that it has acquired the business of Vulnerability Research Labs (VRL), a privately held cyber threat intelligence firm. The acquisition enables CSC to enhance its cybersecurity support to public and commercial enterprises around the world by strengthening its ability to develop unique tools and techniques. Under the agreement, the acquired business will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary within CSCs global cybersecurity business reporting to Samuel S Visner, vice president and cyber lead executive, CSC. Jim Miller, VRLs president, will continue to serve in this capacity for the business and direct its ongoing operations. However, the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
