Asklaila Search for Airtel Customers

Airtel and local information service provider, Asklaila have entered into a
strategic partnership. The partnership enables Airtel customers to get
up-to-date information, free of cost, through asklailas extensive city
information database. The asklaila-powered Airtel city search will reach more
than 30 mn users across the six cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai,
Hyderabad, Kolkata and Bangalore.

Googles SMS Search

Google has launched an SMS-based text message service that will offer search
services across the country. This service would be available across all
operators on both GSM and CDMA mobile phones at cheaper rates, even to those who
have mobile phones but do not have Internet connections. Google has come up with
a newer version of Google SMS Search at the price of regular SMS.

Nokia Siemens Networks Inaugurates $70 mn Facility

Nokia Siemens Networks has inaugurated a new facility for the manufacture
and distribution of mobile communications infrastructure at Oragadam near
Chennai. Over the next three years the company plans to invest Rs 300 croreapproximately
$70 mn , or 45 mn euroin the facility and to generate 400 new jobs. The new
Oragadam facility will manufacture Nokia Siemens Networks mobile Base Station
Controllers, NSN Flexi EDGE BTS, Microwave Radio and Access line-card products,
as well as other telecom equipment.
