Taiwan IC industry shows 25.1% growth on-year in Q2-2024: TSIA

According to WSTS, the Q2-2024 worldwide semiconductor revenue reached US$149.9 billion, up 6.5% on-quarter and a year-to-year growth of 18.3%. Sales quantity reached 235.5 billion ICs, up 7.9% on-quarter and a 2.0% increase on-year. ASP was US$0.637, down 1.3% on-quarter and a 16.0% increase on-year.

Semiconductor revenue in the US reached US$44.3 billion in Q2 2024, up 15.6% on-quarter and a 42.7% increase on-year. Revenue in Japan reached US$11.3 billion, up 6.0% on-quarter and a 5.0% decline on-year. Revenue in Europe reached US$12.5 billion, down 3.4% on-quarter and an 11.3% drop on-year. Revenue in China reached US$45.3 billion, up 6.5% on-quarter and a 21.5% growth on-year. Revenue in Asia Pacific (excluding China) reached US$36.5 billion, up 0.5% on-quarter and a 12.7% increase on-year.

    

TSIA survey showed that the Q2-2024 Taiwan IC revenue as a whole (including design, manufacturing, packaging and testing) totaled NT$1,270.2 billion (US$40.7B) (up 8.9% on-quarter and 25.1% growth on-year).

NT$312.5B in design (US$10B) (4.1% increase on-quarter and up 16.4% on-year), NT$807.1B in manufacturing (US$25.9B) (12.2% growth on-quarter and up 32.9% on-year) (foundry NT$760.5B (US$24.4B), 12.7% rise on-quarter and up 34.7% on-year; memory and other manufacturing products NT$46.6B (US$1.5B), 5% increase on-quarter and up 8.9% on-year), NT$102.2B in packaging (US$3.3B) (3.5% increase on-quarter and up 10.2% on-year), and NT$48.4B in testing (US$1.6B) (0.2% decrease on-quarter and up 4.5% on-year). 

Taiwan's strong show

The Taiwan IC revenue in 2024 is expected to reach NT$5,236.9B (US$167.8B) (20.6% growth from 2023), with NT$1,285.0B in design (US$41.2B) (17.2% increase), NT$3,313.9B in manufacturing (US$106.2B) (24.5% increase, Foundry NT$3,109.9B (US$99.7B), up 24.8%; Memory and other manufacturing products NT$204.0B (US$6.5B), up 19.9%), NT$430.1B in packaging (US$13.8B) (9.4% increase), and NT$207.9B in testing (USD$6.7B) (up 9.1%).
