Honeywell announced the key trends in building automation for 2025.
Building energy efficiency: In 2025, we can expect to see increase in building energy efficiency fueled by automation. Breakthroughs in building management systems can monitor, manage and automate energy usage down to the individual plug level, resulting in unprecedented visibility and control over energy consumption.
Buildings tackle carbon: Buildings aren’t exactly eco-friendly, and, the older the structure is, more of a problem it becomes. In fact, buildings' energy usage and related processes account for approximately 37% of global CO2 emissions, something that decision makers will increasingly work to address via automation and AI in 2025.
Security goes smart and scalable: In 2025, security will be an integral part of every operation, no longer seen as a back-office function but as a core driver of trust and efficiency. Cloud migration will accelerate across industries, transforming how building operators manage and protect assets, while reducing reliance on on-site infrastructure.
Mobile phones will take center stage in access control, powering seamless, secure entry to everything from offices to storage units. As these digital ecosystems grow, AI-driven cybersecurity solutions will be vital for detecting and responding to sophisticated threats in real-time, protecting both physical and digital spaces from new vulnerabilities.
