India's Role in Boeing's Global Expansion: Creating Job Opportunities

Most of Boeing's engineering staff outside of the US is based in India, where the corporation employs over 5,500 engineers and technicians to support its global operations. Ajay Sharma, executive director of HR at Boeing India and South Asia, told Moneycontrol that India tops the world in terms of Boeing's engineering and technology workforce outside the US and intends to continue growing. Of the 6,000 people employed by the organisation, almost 5,500 are engineers and technologists based in India.

Within the aerospace industry, there will be a need for skilled individuals in various fields due to the opening of new centres in Bengaluru and Chennai. Data scientists, engineers, technologists, and other specialists fall under this category. The company's operations are likely to scale, which will increase job possibilities in these locations.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visionary project, the Sukanya Program, was started by Boeing to develop future talent. The program aims to inspire young girls to pursue a passion for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics by setting up STEM Labs in 150 places throughout India. Furthermore, scholarships will be given to female pilots to support a diverse and inclusive workforce in the aviation sector.
