Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) introduced a pre-loaded SIM for Amarnath Yatra pilgrims. This SIM offers voice and data access to the pilgrims of Amarnath. The new SIM offers 20,000 seconds (333.33 minutes) of talk time and 1.5GB of data usage along with 10 days of validity.
The state-owned telco provides the preloaded Yatra SIM link in Jammu and Kashmir through multiple tourist reception centres. Until 15 August, pilgrims can take advantage of the benefits of the latest development.
Pilgrims can purchase the Yatra SIM connection from the tourist reception centre located at Lakhanpur Base Camp, Bhagwati Nagar Jammu Base Camp, main exchange building at CSC Centre in Kachi Chawni in Jammu, main exchange building at CSC centre in Trikuta Nagar in Jammu, base camps at Baltal and Pahalgam, and tourist reception centre at Nowgam in Srinagar.
The customers can avail the offer at Rs 230, which includes the cost STV and the dedicated plan voucher.
For obtaining the SIM connection, the customer must submit their valid documents, including Proof of Address and Proof of Identity, and their recent photograph. The operator also requires a photocopy of the counterfoil pertaining to the registration slip issued by Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB).
BSNL Yatra SIM will be in the same league as that of Jio, which has also recently introduced its Rs 102 prepaid recharge plan specifically for the pilgrims of Amarnath Yatra that offers unlimited calling and 500MB daily data along with 100 text messages per day for a week.
