One such customer Sidharth S Jena has brought to light an elaborate scam.

“Sir a new modus operandi for cybercrime has started targeting customers of BSNL. They send a message claiming your KYC of BSNL is pending and ask people to Search BSNL quick support from Play Store. After this search they ask you to download the Team Viewer app, and also share instructions for further steps. Then they ask to share the team viewer Id and once it is done, a link is shared where they ask to add the card details for payment of INR 10 to download KYC form,” tweeted the customer.

“Initially an SMS is sent from 9883227951 and you are asked to Call 8001814087. This fraud happened with my father yesterday but fortunately, due to poor internet connection, the money didn't deduct.
