New Update

Cambridge Solutions does not enjoy a high mindshare in India.
Many in India do not even know that Cambridge is actually an Indian company.
India-based Scandent Solutions, that acquired Aons policy administration
division of Cambridge in 2005, decided to take the latters name last year as
it was more well-known in target markets. So the name Cambridge is an import,
though the company is very much Indian.

The big news for Cambridge in FY 07 was bagging the claims
operation services contract worth 49 mn from Aon, through UK-based firm
Xchanging.

This April it sold off its government vertical, run under the
Albion name to Affiliated Computer Services(ACS).

From its traditional strength of managing policy administration
of in-house run insurance programs, it has come a long way to run outsourced
high-value aviation claims operations. Last year, it signed a three-year
contract with Alea North America, a global specialty insurance and reinsurance
company.

Cambridge, which had bagged a contract from SWIFT to provide
service bureau support to member banks earlier, added a new SWIFT setup in
Singapore as a BCP site. It also signed an MoU with Cushman & Wakefield to
jointly develop a new generation technology platform for real estate management.

While consolidating its US business, Cambridge lost out on
growth in North America but its Apac business showed a robust 88% growth, making
it a major player in that market.

In India, Cambridge is looking to expand in tier-3 and 4 cities.
It has also entered into an MoU with Bangalore-based MATS School of Business and
IT for a customized MBA program as an additional sop to its employees. This
financial year will see Cambridge adding pension administration and health
analytics to its growing list of service lines.

There were rumors about the company getting acquired, but that
was denied by the company. DQ
