Bharti Airtel shows group CIO Jai Menon the door

Bharti Airtel has shown the door to Dr.Jai Menon, group CIO and the company's director of global Innovation & IT, for alleged violation of code of conduct, reports the Economic Times.

The Economic Times have quoted people in cognizance of the matter, alleging that "During an internal investigation, it was found that Menon had economic interests in some of the companies which were awarded (third party vendor) contracts."

While the company confirms Menon's exit, it refuses to specify reasons for his eviction.

Menon joined Bharti Airtel in 2002 and, in his latest position, was responsible for overseeing the entire network operations of the company.

According to the people familiar with the development, under his regime the contracts for third party vendor outsourcing were allegedly given to certain select companies.
