New Update

The sell-off of the government business and a change in offshore-onshore mix
resulted in a drop of revenue for Cambridge. But the year saw Cambridge take
some strategic steps for future growth. Major among them were getting into new
areas like real estate and pension processing in the UK market.

In real estate, it targets real estate consulting companies and counts CB
Richard Ellis and Cushman and Wakefield among its clients. Cambridge is
providing back-end support to management of large commercial and residential
property in Europe and the US. Cambridge also got into pension accounting.
Through a partner, it manages pension of about 400 companies in the UK
processing close to 3 lakh pension payrolls per month.

Though the company does operate in the mortgage area, the sub-prime crisis
affected it only marginally, as Cambridge is primarily into loan servicing area
and not loan origination. It is the latter that saw a virtual stop.

The company also completed the amalgamation and arrangement of Cambridge
Integrated Services India and Matrixone India with Cambridge Solutions. The
company board is also raising an aggregate amount of up to $40 mn.

The company continued to expand its Indian operations. It set up a new
development center in Chennai and Pune. This Pune facility will employ 200
skilled resources and dedicated training facility. It also opened a new center
in Shimoga in Karnataka, probably the only company to go to a next generation
