Pitney Bowes Software India was launched in 2007 and deals in location intelligence, customer intelligence, customer communications, and mailstream management. Only a 3-year young organization, the company has managed to achieve a commendable feat of being able to retain its ranking (#13), something that hasnt been achieved by any other participating company. Surely there must be something right about its HR policies.

A firm believer in empowering its employees for fostering innovation in the company, no wonder the employees are a happy lot. What else would explain its #4 rank when it comes to manager cares about the personal and professional growth parameter implying that the team morale in the company is high owing to a strong team bonding with seniors caring about the team members concerns and issues.

Of course this also implies that the managers do not just believe in delegating work but also in providing every opportunity to their teams to learn and grow, perhaps this is why it has been ranked at #7 in the job content parameter. With the majority of the new recruits in the 23-30 age bracket, the company is understandably fostering a culture of identifying young, outstanding performers, and allowing them to grow by giving them bigger responsibilities. The company has good rewards and recognition program in place to encourage employees to take up roles outside their job profiles, in turn enriching their professional experience. The company also encourages their employees to liven up and enjoy their workplace.

On the training parameter, there is a bit of an irony. While the employees are a happy lot when it comes to the quality of the training provided (ranked at #5).

However on the relevancy of training provided, the company is ranked at #20. On the company front, meanwhile it allows its employees to choose the training programs as per their professional and personal requirements. Pitney Bowes also encourages employees to innovate by setting aside a few hours every week to work on new products.

This is not to say that alls well here. The company has fared low on parameters like appraisal and preferred employer. Perhaps the company needs to re-work on its image internally.
