For Datacraft, it was not only a brand change to Dimension Data but also a sea change of initiatives for employee benefit. This required a lot of employee-centric efforts during the transformational mode to boost the employees morale, which is reflected in the attribute of company image (#10).

Some of the other initiatives were to ensure the better health of the employee through Thinkhealth to help employees tackle issues like weight problems. A tinge of excitement was added by introducing a quiz initiative called Buzzer Beater. Such initiatives had a positive effect on the company culture rating at #11. These efforts ensured that the employees enjoy the work that they are doing leading to high excitement levels about the job that they do, culminating in a ranking of #7 on the parameter of strength.

Apart from spreading awareness, even training is of importance that the company ensured through Dimension Data University where certification is awarded to employees undertaking any of the 100 plus e-learning modules (affiliation to Harvard University). This forum is addressed by key leaders of the INSEAD institute from Singapore resulting in a ranking of #9 on the parameter.

Meanwhile, it continued with its relentless efforts in training through FACTS. It also supplemented it with other programs like Walk the Talk to strengthen the skills of employees who deal with clients on the solutions provided. In order to energize its work-force, the company encouraged employees to take advantage of the referral scheme and also increased the referral amount. This led to 40% employees being appointed from such referrals and that not only led to talented individuals joining the company but also reflecting on the rating of #11 on the parameter of people.

Even the appraisal system was a success story as the appraisals were done twice during the year on the basis of KPI settings, which is even supported by the ranking of #6 on the parameter. Training and appraisal have attained importance after the recent brand change that will offer the employees an opportunity to be associated with global projects.
