Bengaluru Fire Kills Chesapeake India Head

Fire engulfed Chesapeake Groups India office at the Carlton Towers on Old

Airport Road, Bengaluru resulting in the death of Siddhartha Padam, principal

and head, India operations, Chesapeake Group. Apart from Padam, two other

employees of Chesapeake, Rajesh Subramanian and Akhil Uday also perished in the

fire.

Padam was an IIM alumni, with experience in finance and strategy gained

through operating and investing roles at IT and private equity organizations.

His interests included connecting with investment professionals in VC/private

equity and corporate M&A teams who are investing in India related business to

exchange ideas and views. Prior to that he was in the principal acquisitions and

investments group, Infosys Technologies for a year. He also headed Valtechs

corporate M&A Group of Infosys AVP, strategic initiatives.

Dataquest received a mail from Chesapeake headquarters informing that members

of the New York staff will be traveling to India to be with the families of

those who perished and we will endeavor to provide further information as it

becomes available. Chesapeake also announced that it will be setting up a fund

to assist the families of Padam, Subramanian, and Uday.
