Largest client first cut spending, then walked away–eating into revenues and profits Operating margins dipped for second year in a row to a negative 21.2%; net loss Rs 4.2 crore

Bangalore-based Aztec’s revenues fell for the second year in a row, as did
net profits. In fact, the company showed a net loss of Rs 4.2 crore in fiscal
2002-03, as its largest customer–Asera–pulled out in Q3. The company went
through a leadership change as William Brown stepped down. Chairman S
Parthasarathy has since taken over the role of CEO. The company, which was
seriously hit by the dot-com bust, is still trying to find its feet in the
Internet middleware space.
