AWS announced new tools for building with generative AI, which will make it easier for customers to use this technology in their businesses. The democratization of AI and ML has been a key focus for Amazon for over 20 years, and AWS has played a crucial role in making these technologies accessible to customers of all sizes and industries, said a statement from the company.
Generative AI is a type of AI that can create new content and ideas, including conversations, stories, images, videos, and music. This technology is powered by ML models, also known as Foundation Models, which are pre-trained on vast amounts of data. AWS says that it has been investing in and innovating to offer the most performant, scalable infrastructure for cost-effective ML training and inference, making it easier for developers to build, train, and deploy models.
The new tools announced include Amazon SageMaker Generative AI, a new service that makes it easy for developers to build and deploy generative AI models at scale. It includes pre-built models and frameworks for natural language processing, computer vision, and audio processing, as well as a new feature called Generative Templates, which enables customers to create customized generative models with little to no code.
Another tool announced is Amazon Textract Generative AI, a new service that uses generative AI to extract data from unstructured documents, such as contracts and invoices. This tool can create structured data from unstructured data, reducing the time and effort required for manual data entry and analysis.
In addition, AWS has also announced new capabilities for Amazon Rekognition, the company's image and video analysis service. These capabilities include the ability to detect and recognize landmarks, such as buildings and monuments, as well as the ability to generate new images and videos based on existing ones.
These new tools and capabilities will make it easier for customers to incorporate generative AI into their businesses, enabling them to create new content and ideas, as well as automate manual tasks and improve data analysis. With these innovations, AWS is continuing its mission to democratize AI and ML and make them accessible to customers of all sizes and industries.
