Apple Adds the Dash of VR to iMac

At the WWDC 2017 Apple revealed various new technologies and devices, virtual Reality experience for iMac users being one of those.

Apple, in its Worldwide Developers Conference held from June 05 to June 09, 2017 in San Jose made some key announcements and unveiled its new devices. The conference was attended by more than a 5,000 developers from all over the world, which was a record breaker. The conference takes place every year to display new software, and at times, hardware.

The new features and Apple Devices revealed during the conference were :

iPhones and iPads :

  • For iPhones and iPads, messages would now be synced to Apple servers in the cloud. iPhones will only keep the most recent messages to save storage.
  • Apple would now make use of high efficiency format to replace the JPEG format for photos. It is not yet clear how well the photos will work with non-Apple software and devices, which mostly use JPEG. 
  • Apple users would also be able to pay via its new payment service app named Apple Pay, this would allow Apple users to make payments faster with more convenience.
  • The new 10.5 inch iPad Pro and updated 12.9inch iPad Prowill have a better camera system based on the iPhone7. iPad Pro’s new A10X processor offers professional level photo editing. Both iPads will have Apple’s True Tone Display with wide color gamut support.

MAC Gets Better

New iMacs Apple's would be having better display and graphic capabilities. Apple introduced the better iMac, MacBook, and MacBook Pro line-ups, adding Kaby Lake processors, better graphics, and expanded memory options. The company also announced the iMac Pro, which will be available in December and explicitly target professional users.

Mac would prove to be a good platform to enhance the experience of virtual reality for customers. The latest operating system for Mac Computers, High Sierra was also introduced at the conference. It recognizes more faces automatically that will allow it to organize pictures better.

Apple's web browser, Safari, aims to make user’s surfing experience less annoying. The browser will now be able to automatically block auto-play videos by detecting videos that should not be playing when a user opens a webpage.

The Apple Watch

Tim Cook announced that the Apple watch will now have an updated software with new watch features and personalized alerts. The new features use machine learning to tailor information based on the user’s daily routine and tastes. Apart from this, the apple watch will have a better workout app that allows high intensity interval training.

Apple’s HomePod

The HomePod is a smart speaker with spatial awareness that allows it to analyze its environment and direct the sound using Beamforming technology. Various Apple HomePods can also connect wirelessly to provide better quality sound.

These new technologies are expected to hit the market by September this year, when Apple generally launches it’s phones.
