Anirban Basu elected chairman for CSI EXECOM

Anirban Basu is the new chairman for Computer Society of India's national body EXECOM for the term 2013-2015. Basu is a PhD in computer science and currently a research professor and consultant. In his new role, Basu will work in the growth of the IT education through various events and programs throughout India.

"This new role will help me to catalyze the growth of IT education through  conferences and continuing education programs for IT professionals and the academic community throughout India," says Basu in a note to Dataquest.
 
Formed in 1965, the CSI has been instrumental in guiding the Indian IT industry down the right path since its formative years. Today, CSI has 71 chapters all over India, 418 student branches, and more than 90000 members including India's most famous IT industry leaders, scientists and dedicated academicians. It boasts to be the largest body of IT professionals in the country.
