Android 11, which makes it easier for users to manage their conversations, connected devices, privacy, and so on will start rolling-out from today. This new development was announced by Sundar Pichai, CEO, Google and Alphabet. He also listed 11 new things that will be seen in Android 11. “Excited that Android 11 starts rolling out today, with better ways to communicate, new ways to manage your devices & media, and even more control over your data and privacy,” he said.

“Android 11 introduces people-centric conversation notifications, new controls space, one-time permissions, enhanced 5G support, and so much more. Get your apps ready.” tweeted the official account of Android Developers.

New Features of Android 11

Sundar Pichai, in a blog post, said that the following new features will be introduced through Android 11:

  • Conversations across messaging apps will be moved to a dedicated space in the notifications section so that users can avoid switching between multiple screens.
  • Bubbles helps users to respond to important conversations without having to switch back and forth between the task in hand and the messaging app.
  • Built-in screen recording, with the option to record with sound from mic, device or both without an extra app.
  • All smart devices in one place by long-pressing the power button.
  • Redesigned media controls.
  • Android Auto works wirelessly for all phones running Android 11 as long as there is a compatible vehicle.
  • One-time permissions to grant single-use access to sensitive permissions like microphone, camera and location. The next time the app needs access to the sensors, it must ask for permission again.
  • Android will “auto-reset” permissions for unused apps and notify accordingly.
  • Google Play system update modules for more security and privacy.
  • For Android Enterprise users privacy protections will be offered.
  • Pixel 2 and above to get additional features to organize and manage the phone.
