Amazon India has launched a Machine Learning Challenge for engineering students in India, and winners will receive cash prizes worth Rs one lakh

Amazon India has invited applications from engineering students in the country for its Machine Learning Challenge. Amazon Machine Learning Challenge is a two-stage competition where students from all engineering campuses across India will get an opportunity to work on Amazon’s dataset to bring in fresh ideas and build innovative solutions for a real-world problem statement. Those who win the competition will also receive pre-placement interviews for machine learning roles apart from cash prizes and certificates.

The Amazon India Machine Learning Challenge will be held virtually this time and will begin from 30 July 2021 onwards. Each team must consist of a minimum of three and a maximum of four members. Team members can be from the same campus or from different campuses. However, one student can be part of only one team, and in case any team member does not meet the mentioned criteria, the entire team will be disqualified from the challenge.

Who Can Take Part in the Amazon India Machine Learning Challenge

The challenge is open to students across all engineering campuses in India, who are graduating in 2022 or 2023 and are enrolled in the following degrees:

  • ME
  • MTech
  • MS
  • BE
  • BTech

Some of the important team formation criteria for the event are as follows:

  • Each team must consist of a minimum of 3 and maximum of 4 members.
  • Team members can be from the same campus or from different campuses.
  • One student cannot be a member of more than one team.

How the Amazon India Machine Learning Challenge Will Be Conducted

The competition will be conducted from 30 July to 1 August 2021, and all teams will get access to a problem statement with data set on 30 July and will have time to build and submit solutions by 1 August. Teams can track their performance through the leaderboard which will reflect team rankings live over the course of this challenge.

Top 10 teams from Round 1 will be invited to present their solutions to Amazon's Scientists on 4 August 2021, and the finale will be hosted live. Interested students will have to register on the official website before 29 July 2021 at 11:59 PM IST.

Participants who win the challenge will receive the following cash prizes apart from pre-placement interviews, and cash prizes:

  • Winners to get a cash prize worth Rs one lakh.
  • First runners up to get cash prize worth Rs 75,000.
