Amazon India is calling employees back to office as the country is moving forward to re-establish a normal way of life post COVID-19

Amazon India is calling employees back to office while being cautious and enforcing measures to ensure the safety of its employees. The company says that this move is being made now since Central and State Governments as well as Union Territories have relaxed some of the stricter regulations  re-establish a normal way of life post COVID-19. Amazon India says that several of its working professionals have been looking forward to returning to the physical workplace.

“'WFH' has taken on a new meaning at Amazon India as we transition slowly from 'Work From Home' to 'Work From Here’,” said the company in its blogpost while stating that all measures were in place to ensure a smooth transition from home to office. According to Naukri, Amazon India has over 1 lakh delivery partners and about 65,000 employees working across verticals in India. Several companies have been calling employees back to work as a drop in productivity has been witnessed due to the pandemic.

Measures Being Taken By Amazon India To Ensure Employee Safety 

The company says in its blog that while they were welcoming employees back to their physical offices across India, they were undertaking several initiatives to make the environment hospitable, especially for those who joined during the pandemic and will be visiting their respective offices for the very first time. Some of the measures being taken are as follows:

  • Maintaining COVID-19 protocols: The Amazon India Global Real Estate & Facilities (GREF) teams are working round the clock to ensure the health and safety of all Amazonians.
  • Stringent entry requirements: Amazon employees are asked to provide vaccination certificates or negative Rapid Antigen Test results in order to be granted entry inside the premises.
  • Apart from these measures, cafeterias and transport facilities are being provided.
