Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship Program: Here’s Who Can Apply for $40,000 Scholarship and Paid Summer Internship

Online applications are currently being accepted for the Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship Program, which in an initiative launched by the company to support underserved students in the US with their computer science education. Interested students may submit applications until 25 February 2021, and 100 deserving students will be selected for the program.

Those selected will receive $40,000 scholarship along with a paid 12-week summer internship at Amazon after completing their freshman year of college. The interns at Amazon, who will be paired up with a co-intern, manager, and mentors, will get to work on projects that have a real impact on Amazon customers such as Alexa voice technology, Amazon Web Services, and the Amazon retail platform.

Who can Apply for Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship Program

The scholarship is aimed at students who meet the following eligibility criteria:

• Students who have completed their computer science course in high school.
• High school seniors in the US, who are US citizens or permanent residents of the country.
• Students with a plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree in computer science.

The scholarship recipients will receive an amount of 10,000 dollars annually, which is renewable for up to three years or until the bachelor’s degree is earned. The renewal will be done as long as the recipient continues full-time enrollment at an accredited four-year college or university, and maintains good standing with their university.

The scholarship will not be provided to employees of Amazon and its subsidiaries as well as immediate family members of those working at the company.
