Narendra Modi recently launched BHIM app which is a digital payment app. The name of the app stands for Bharat interface for money and is named after Dr. B.R Ambedkar. It has become one of the most popular app since its launch and is said to be a singular app for all UPI-based payments.
BHIM app is currently available for android phones and a new version is expected soon for Apple and windows. We have listed few things that BHIM app is famous for:
1. BHIM is a digital payments solution app which is based on UPI from the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). The app allows users to send or receive money using UPI. The app also has option to transfer via IFSC and MMID. One can also make direct payments to merchants by scanning OR code.
2. Many banks such as ICICI, HDFC, IDBI, Standard Chartered Bank, Punjab National Bank, Kodak Mahindra Bank, etc in the country support BHIM app. All money goes into bank account instantly 24*7.
3, Once you download the app and verified your mobile number, the app lets you choose your preferred bank. Once you select your bank,the app ask you to set a four digit password which helps operate the app every time you open it.
4, BHIM will also support Aadhaar-based payments soon.
5. One can use this app without a smartphone or an internet connection. You just need to type *99# from any mobile phone, this will show different numbers from which you can choose to send money, check balance and also view transaction history.
