Airtel Wi-Fi Calling, which was recently launched in New Delhi, is now compatible with a few more devices. Airtel announced yesterday that a few more devices are now compatible with the service. Airtel Wi-Fi Calling enables the company’s smartphone customers to switch from LTE to Wi-Fi based calling when they are inside their homes or offices.
The service can be availed by customers at no extra cost, and the service consumes minimal data. The service is available only in New Delhi as of now, but the company says that it is working on making it available in other cities as well.

Six more devices have been added to the list which supports Airtel Wi-Fi Calling. Samsung S10 and M20 series and OnePlus 6 series devices are now compatible with the company’s Voice over Wi-Fi service. The list of compatible devices is as follows:
- Apple: All iPhone series starting 6s and above
- Xiaomi: Redmi K20, Redmi K20 Pro and POCO F1
- Samsung: J6, A10s, On6, S10, S10+, S10e, M20, M30s

User Feedback on the Airtel Wi-Fi Calling Service
Although the service is still being rolled-out and customers are yet to use the same on their smartphones, a few responses regarding the same have started to come in.
“You have to try this! It’s a fabulous experience. I absolutely love it,” tweets Harmeen Mehta, Global CIO of Bharti Airtel. Nevertheless, a user responded to this saying he was facing call drops with the service. “HARMEET Tech is kool. But call drops happen because WiFi itself doesn’t work - I am in Def col - there too it doesn’t. U also have to appreciate this will only be successful if u r able to give seamless, no packet loss connectivity on landline. The white routers r not compatible,” says Vaibhav Aggarwal on Twitter.
The company, however, has clarified that they are working with all leading smartphone brands to roll out compatibility with ‘Airtel Wi-Fi Calling’. The service is currently compatible with Airtel Xstream Fiber home broadband and will soon be compatible with all broadband services and Wi-Fi hotspots.
