Airtel has introduced three new truly unlimited prepaid plans, which will be applicable from 7 December 2019. In what seems to be a bid to take on the Reliance Jio All-In-One plans, Airtel’s new truly unlimited prepaid plans have been priced much lower than the plans that were announced after the recent tariff hikes.

The cheapest Airtel truly unlimited prepaid plan starts at Rs 219 and offers 1.5GB along with 100 SMS per day and unlimited calling to any network across India for 28 days. The next newly introduced prepaid plan costs Rs 399 and offers 1.5GB along with 100 SMS per day and unlimited calling to any network across India for 56 days.

Furthermore, the third prepaid plan costs Rs 449 and offers 2GB along with 90 SMS per day and unlimited calling to any network across India for 56 days. Subscribers of all three plans will get complimentary access to Free Hello Tunes, Unlimited Wynk Music and Airtel Xtream App premium.

Nevertheless, the cheapest Reliance Jio All-In-One-Plan still costs lesser than Airtel and starts at Rs 199 and offers 1.5GB per day, unlimited Jio to Jio calls, 1000 minutes of Jio to non-Jio calls for a period of one month.  And as far as the Rs 399 plan is concerned, Reliance Jio All-In-One-Plan offers 1.5GB per day, unlimited Jio to Jio calls, 2000 minutes of Jio to non-Jio calls for a period of two months.

Lastly, the Reliance Jio Rs 444 plan offers 2GB  per day along with 2000 minutes of calling to any network across India for 56 days, and unlimited Jio to Jio calls. Reliance Jio subscribers have access to OTT platforms such as JioSaavn and JioCinema amongst others.

The intent to hike tariffs was announced last month by Airtel, Vodafone and Reliance Jio in order to provide some relief and combat the ‘acute financial stress’ in the telecom sector. While Airtel and Vodafone Idea's tariff hikes became applicable from 3 December 2019, Reliance Jio plans have come into effect from 6 December 2019.
