AICTE Pragati Scheme for girls offers scholarships of Rs 50,000 each year to female students pursuing their degrees or diplomas in technical education

The last date for submitting online applications for AICTE Pragati Scheme for girls has been extended further by the All India Council of Technical Education. Applications will now be accepted until 31 December 2020, and defective and institute verification will be allowed until 15 January 2021. “The students are advised to submit their online applications well in time so that their institutions are able to verify applications within the prescribed timelines,” says AICTE in the latest notification. Selected students will receive a scholarship of Rs 50,000 per year, which is renewable on a yearly basis.

AICTE scholarship scheme for girls aims at providing financial support to female students pursuing their degree or diploma in technical education from AICTE approved institutions. A maximum of two girls from a single-family may apply, and the annual income of applicants’ families should not be over Rs 8 lakhs. The girl candidate should be admitted to the first year of degree level course or second year of degree level course through lateral entry in any of the AICTE approved institutions of the respective year.

Documents Needed to Apply for AICTE Pragati Scheme for Girls

Applicants will have to first register on the National Scholarship Portal by providing the required information. If an applicant is below 18 years of age, parents or guardians will have to fill and submit their forms. The documents that are required to apply for the scholarship are as follows:

  • Educational documents of students such as marks cards and certificates.
  • Student's Bank account number and IFSC code of the bank branch.
  • Aadhaar number of student or bonafide certificate from institute or school.
  • Aadhaar enrolment ID or scanned copy of bank passbook.

Students must take care to provide names and other personal details as printed in their educational certificates. Also, a functional email address and mobile number need to be provided as all the communications and one-time passwords related to portal activities will have to be sent.
