AICTE Pragati Scheme for Girls: Last Date for Online Applications for Scholarship of Rs 50,000 Extended

AICTE Pragati Scheme for girls is rewarded to girls doing their degree or diploma in technical education, and 5000 students receive scholarships every year

The last date for online application for AICTE Pragati Scheme for girls has now been extended from 31 October to 30 November 2020. Interested female students pursuing their degree or diploma in technical subjects at any of the All India Council of Technical Education approved institutions may apply for the scholarship worth Rs 50,000 per annum.

The National Scholarship Portal is currently accepting new applications as well as applications for the renewal of scholarships. Furthermore, the institutes where the applicants are studying have been given time until 15 December 2020 for verification of the online application. Female students in the first year or second year through the lateral entry of their technical degree or diploma courses can apply for the scholarships.

Important Details of the AICTE Pragati Scheme for Girls

  • The scholarship is open to female students with a family income of less than Rs 8 lakh per annum.
  • A maximum of two girls from the same family can apply for the scholarships.
  • The selection of candidates will be carried out solely on the basis of merit of qualifying examination to peruse the technical degree course from any of the AICTE approved institutions.
  • Selected students will receive a scholarship amount of Rs 50,000 per annum for a maximum of 4 years for first-year admitted students and a maximum of 3 years for second-year admitted students through lateral entry.
  • The scholarship will be renewed for the next year of study upon the receipt of renewal through the National Scholarship Portal by submitting a passing certificate or marksheet along with a letter from the Head of the Institution on the online portal.
  • The scholarship will be forfeited for students who fail to obtain passing marks or get promoted to the next class.
  • The provisional list of shortlisted candidates will be uploaded on the AICTE website.
