AICTE Pragati Scheme for Girls: Applications Invited for 5000 Scholarships Worth Rs 50,000 Per Year

AICTE Pragati Scheme for girls has been announced for the upcoming year, and online applications for the same have been invited from eligible students. The All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) offers 5000 female students pursuing a degree or diploma in technical education in its affiliated institutes Rs 50,000 every year for a maximum of three years as part of the Pragati Scheme for Girls.

In addition to 5,000 scholarships, all eligible girls who submit online scholarship forms from Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Lakshadweep, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura will be given a scholarship by AICTE.

Those selected will be paid Rs 50,000 per annum for every year of study, which is a maximum of three years for first-year admitted students and maximum of two years for the second year admitted students through lateral entry for diploma students, and a maximum of four years for first-year admitted students and maximum three years for the second year admitted students through lateral entry for degree students as lump sum amount towards payment of college fee, purchase of computer, stationeries, books, equipment, and software.

Who Can Apply for AICTE Pragati Scheme for Girls

The scholarship opportunity is open to a maximum of two female children from a family who also fulfill the following criteria:

• The girl candidate should be admitted to the first year of diploma level course or second year of diploma level course through lateral entry in any of the AICTE approved institutions of the respective year.
• The girl candidate should be admitted to the first year of degree level course or second year of degree level course through lateral entry in any of the AICTE approved institutions of the respective year.
• The family income from all sources should not be more than Rs 8 lakh per annum during the current financial year, and a valid income certificate issued by State or UT Government needs to be enclosed.

How to Apply for AICTE Pragati Scheme for Girls

• Interested candidates fulfilling the required eligibility criteria would be required to apply online on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) before 30 November 2021.
• Defective verification and institute verification will be open until 15 December 2021. The host institution where the candidate is studying is required to verify the online application.
• Furthermore, the Department of Technical Education (DTE) of the respective State or UT will verify these applications as the second level of scrutiny.
• Students will have to keep ready the educational documents, bank account details, and Aadhaar card ready while registering on the National Scholarship portal.
