AICTE Launches Portal Offering Free Online Courses for Students and Professionals: Here’s How to Enroll

AICTE has unveiled a free online training platform Enhancement in Learning with Improvement In Skills (ELIS) to help students and professionals with continuity of education through e-learning. The ELIS portal was formally launched on 12 April 2020 by AICTE officials namely Anil Sahasrabudhe, chairman along with MP Poonia, vice chairman and Rajiv Kumar, member secretary.

As several companies have come forward to provide online courses for free to learners until 15 May 2020,  the All India Council for Technical Education designed the ELIS portal to offer the courses from a single platform. The e-learning contents on the portal have been sourced from 18 leading Ed-tech companies with 26 different courses. AICTE says that normally these courses would cost learners about Rs 5,000 to Rs 20,000.

Nevertheless, all participating companies have offered to enroll students in the present lockdown period without any cost till 15 May. All companies have also gracefully agreed to keep the course free. In effect, there shall be no charges whatsoever to be paid by learners who enroll now till the course is completed says AICTE.

Courses Available on AICTE ELIS Portal

AICTE says that the courses have been made available keeping in mind to provide all students with contents that not only enhance learning for regular subjects but also aim to build up valuable skill sets as required in the actual work environment.

Some of the courses that are available for free as of now are Diploma in Machine Learning with R studio, Machine Learning using Python, Data Analytics using R, IAAA: Certified Software Testing Professional - Functional Testing, LEAP: Learning Excellence And Progression, Big Data 101, Data Science for Beginners/ Python for Data Science, Programming Work Bench, and so on.

How to Enroll on the AICTE ELIS Portal?

Interested students and professionals need to visit the official ELIS platform and click on the courses they are interested to take to enroll for the free online courses.
