AICTE Announces Mitacs Research Internship, Selected Students to Work at Laboratories in Canada

AICTE will soon invite applications from undergraduate students from the science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields

AICTE has announced that online applications for AICTE-Mitacs Inc Global Research Internship 2021 will soon begin. AICTE-Mitacs Inc Globalink Research Internship 2021 is dedicated especially for third and final year students enrolled in full-time undergraduate programs in All India Council for Technical Education approved institutions. The initiative is aimed at encouraging young researchers of the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields.

Mitacs is a nonprofit national research organization of Canada dedicated to supporting applied and industrial research. The organization in partnerships with Canadian academia, private industry and government, operates research and training programs in fields related to industrial and social innovation.

All India Council for Technical Education and Mitacs signed an MoU in 2018 to enable Indian and Canadian researchers to undertake collaborative research in India and Canada. The MoU says that All India Council for Technical Education and Mitacs aim at supporting 300 undergraduate students each year through this program. Selected interns will get a chance to work in the field of research at Canadian laboratories for a period of twelve weeks.

All India Council for Technical Education, Mitacs and the participating interns will share the cost of the research internship on an equitable basis. AICTE is also holding a webinar on 27 July 2020, wherein Anil Sahasrabudhe, chairman, Dr M P Poonia, vice chairman and Prof. Rajive Kumar, member secretary, AICTE will share their views on the AICTE-Mitacs Inc Global Research Internship. Those interested to attend the webinar can register for the event, and those who wish to take part in the internship can register on the Mitacs website to get notified regarding the online application process.
