NXP to Buy BMP Business
NXP Semiconductors, the independent semiconductor company founded by Philips,
has announced that it would acquire the broadband media processing (BMP)
business of Conexant Systems. With this transaction, NXPs existing set-top box
and digital TV operations will be combined with Conexants BMP business. The
deal represents NXPs fourth acquisition since independence and the first for
its home business unit.
Freescale Buys SigmaTel
Freescale Semiconductor, a privately held global leader in the design and
manufacture of embedded semiconductors, has completed the acquisition of
SigmaTel, paying $3 per outstanding share of SigmaTel stock representing
approximately $110 mn in cash.
IBM Completes Offer
IBM has announced the completion of its approximately $845 mn tender offer
for the shares of Telelogic AB. The tender offer, announced on June 11, 2007,
was finalized after IBM obtained acceptance from 98.7% of stock ownership in
Telelogic as well as satisfaction of other conditions of the offer, including
the necessary worldwide regulatory approvals.
HCL Info Buys NTPL
HCL Infosystems, an ICT system integrator and distribution company, has
announced the acquisition of Natural Technologies (NTPL), a niche banking
software company. With three decades of providing ICT infrastructure solutions
and services to the BFSI sector across the country, the acquisition of niche
products from NTPL will further consolidate HCLs leadership position in this
sector.
NTPL, with over ten years of developing software products for the Indian
banking sector, has over thirty clients from PSUs, the private sector, the
cooperative sector, and the regional rural sector banks.
