Acadgild and IL&FS skills launch integrated placement programme

Acadgild, the online professional training bootcamp, has launched an integrated placement programme, in partnership with IL&FS Skills. The interview-linked programme will be conducted across 20 IL&FS Institute of Skills (IIS), the flagship skills training Institute of IL&FS Skills. Around 6000 students will be eligible to appear for the entrance examinations out of which 200 students will be selected for the course. Students who are currently pursuing or those who have recently completed courses in Btech, Mtech, BSc (Computer Science), BCA, MCA can apply for the integrated programme.

Spanning a duration of 4 months, the first batch is expected to commence in April (for 2016 graduates) and May 2017 (for 2017 - Final Year students). The programme is priced at INR 55,000 plus taxes. The students will be selected on the basis of a one-hour online exam at IIS which would be held in the first three weeks of April. Select students will be eligible for scholarships amounting upto INR 20,000.

Speaking about the programme, Mr Vikalp Jain, President and Co-founder, Acadgild said, "India faces a huge skill-gap and this partnership with IL&FS Skills is aimed at addressing this gap and making the youth skilled and employable after the successful completion of the programme. With IL&FS Skills, our reach has expanded exponentially enabling even those who do not have access to computers, the opportunity to benefit from the courses we conduct. Acadgild aims to address the shortage of jobs for deserving candidates with each of its offering. Those attending this bootcamp will accrue many benefits, some of them being: industry experience certificate, acquiring additional skill sets, increased aptitude ability, increased Shareable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) Skills, and developing a project portfolio. They will also gain additional benefits like attending mock interviews, gaining perspective of interview and knowledge on industry interfacing."

The courseware would include training in technical skills such as Java, after which the students can choose to specialize in Big Data, Selenium, Automation Testing, J2EE, and Android; Aptitude; and Communication. At the end of the programme, the students will also have the advantage of a one-month internship in leading IT companies and promising startups working in these areas. While Acadgild will primarily be responsible for content delivery, assigning mentors, sourcing of internship opportunities, alignment of interviews, and building project portfolio, IL&FS Skills will focus on Student awareness about programmes, facilitating training at it’s centers and providing in-class mentoring.

However, they did not possess the required skill sets. IL&FS Skills has since then set up 300 IIS offering skills training in 20+ high growth sectors, having trained over 6 Lakh youth in partnership with National Skills Development Corporation (NSDC). We have now partnered with Acadgildfor this integrated course which will skill students and prepare them in bagging internship opportunities in leading IT companies.
