Aarogya Setu app will be opened for COVID-19 vaccine registration for citizens above 18 years of age at 4 PM IST from 28 April 2021 onwards for the largest ever vaccination drive scheduled to begin in India from 1 May. While vaccination registration will also be allowed on the CoWIN portal and UMANG app, Aarogya Setu has already been widely downloaded by several citizens across the country last year as mandated by the Government of India.
Aarogya Setu now has a separate section for COVID-19 vaccine registration, which can be used by citizens to register themselves, and other beneficiaries for vaccination as well as to download COVID-19 vaccination certificates. This has been made possible after the CoWIN app has been integrated with Aarogya Setu. The Government of India has issued a detailed guide to help citizens register for the vaccination drive.
Step-by-step Guide on Using Aarogya Setu App for COVID-19 Vaccine Registration
All citizens above 18 years of age would be required to first update their Aarogya Setu app after which the following steps will have to be taken:
- Click on the CoWIN icon available on the top right hand corner of the app.
- There are four options available: Vaccination information, vaccination, vaccination certificate, and vaccination dashboard.
- Citizens will have to log in, and then click on the proceed option.
- Once logged in, citizens will be given an option to enter their mobile number, which needs to be verified by clicking on ‘Proceed to Verify’.
- A six digit OTP will be sent to the mobile number that has been entered using which the verification process will have to be completed by clicking on ‘Proceed’.
- The citizen will then get the name, status and action option window.
- Citizens can check their name, and also use the ‘Click here to add beneficiary’ option to get family members registered.
- After that, a register to vaccination window will be opened wherein citizens can chose from their photo ID options such as Aadhaar card, driver’s license, PAN card, passport, pension passbook, and NPR smart card. This photo ID card will have to be taken to the centre for vaccination.
- Other details such as gender and year of birth will then have to be entered.
- Up to four beneficiaries can be registered through one number through this process.
- The co-morbid conditions of beneficiaries, if any, will have to be declared.
- If a wrong spelling is entered, there is an option available to delete the beneficiary’s name, and re-enter the same.
- There is also an option available to reschedule the appointment.
- An appointment for the vaccination can be scheduled by clicking on the ‘Schedule vaccination’ option and then entering the PIN code of the beneficiary’s area of residence.
- Users can then use the ‘Fine Vaccination Centre’ option to find the nearest vaccination centre, and book their appointment by using the ‘Check availability’ option.
- Once the preferred slot is booked, users can chose the ‘Confirm Appointment’ option to book their appointment.
Once the appointment is booked, all details will be displayed on the Aarogya Setu app. The second appointment vaccination will also be booked through the app.
