Pulse 2008, IBMs global service management event held recently at the Walt
Disney World Dolphin and Swan Resort in Orlando, announced a slew of software
and services to help businesses thrive in the era of industrialized IT
operations.

For the first time, Pulse 2008 brought together more than 4,000 Tivoli Maximo
and Tivoli Netcool users with IBM partners, industry analysts, and IBM technical
experts at this global event dedicated to the latest technology and best
practices in service and asset management.

At the Pulse 2008 conference, IBM, the world-wide market share leader in IT
operations management software marketplace, announced Software for a Greener
World, Energy Optimization Software, Software for Growing Mid-market
Businesses and Service Management Software. IBM also announced new security
software and the next evolution of its industry-leading asset management
Software like Maximo Asset Management software and IBM Tivoli federated
Identity Management Software.

The six-day event offered networking and educational opportunities for IBM
product users, business partners, industry analysts and IBM technical experts.
At the various sessions, industry thought-leaders and clients demonstrated how
to integrate business and IT assets with visibility, control and automation of
IBM Service Management. The hands-on instructions and product demonstrations
showcased how managing and optimizing investments, addressing risk and
compliance challenges, and accelerating business growth are well within ones
reach.

More than 1,000 IBM client speakers from a wide range of industries presented
their experiences and best practices using IBM solutions. Appreciating the
efforts made by the speakers in sharing their experiences, Al Zollar, general
manager, Tivoli Software, IBM Software Group said: This is a reflection of the
tremendous interest in the convergence of service and asset management taking
hold in the industry today.

Nearly 300 gurus were present throughout the event to answer questions from
the participants at the exclusive Guru Galaxy: Meet the Experts. Eminent
speakers, including seven-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong, who is
also a social entrepreneur and the author of Leaving Microsoft to Change the
World spoke during the general session.

On the whole, every participant at the conference had something to offer and
take back through Business Partner Summits, Industry User Group Meetings, Mini
Theatre Sessions, Meet with Experts, Hands-on Labs and the great networking
opportunity with IBMs business partners at the Pulse Expo.
