One of the dream companies of the IT industry today (see graphic on The
top attributes on page 48), Chennai-based Cognizant Technologies has several positive factors to its credit. It scores the highest on
facilities resources support and is second only to Infosys in terms of perks offered to its employees.

Good scores on technology, training sponsorship and interpersonal relationships are other factors responsible for Cognizant’s position in
the Top 5. CTS employees give high importance to job content and career development opportunities and say these are the key factors responsible
for attracting them to the company. Compensation is another important parameter.

The HR survey shows that Cognizant is bang on target in perceiving what drives its employees. According to the questionnaire answered by
Cognizant, its employees consider job content and career development opportunities most important, with compensation and HR services following
close behind. The company also sees technology and work culture as important factors that drive its employees.

It is no surprise that Cognizant employees rate the company high on overall satisfaction. Employees also believe that their peers are equally
satisfied with the company. However, the HR questionnaire rates company image as the third-most important factor for the employee. Similar to
those at Infosys and HCL Tech, CTS employees also say company image is not so important to them.
