Over 6.5% of the IT professionals interviewed by IDC said HCL Tech was

their dream company, making it the fourth-most preferred IT employer in India (see graphic on The dream companies on page 53). But company image was not very high on the HCL Tech employees’ priority scale. HCL ranked

fairly high on most of the parameters taken into consideration. The company has risen from the eighth to fourth slot and its employees are

essentially satisfied. While employees say they are reasonably satisfied, the perception about the satisfaction levels of their peers gets a higher

score.

Compensation and benefits are considered ‘low’. Compared to other companies, HCL employees are less satisfied with the performance appraisal

system in place and on overseas opportunities offered to employees. These bits of discontent apart, employees give good marks to facilities

resources and support provided by the company. Its composite score on attributes is on the higher side. HCL employees laud the company for

providing good career development opportunities. The work climate is considered healthy and employees are happy with the technology used as

well as training and development opportunities provided to them.
