It's not the buyers anymore who are using mobile apps for shopping. The same traction for apps can now be seen from the sellers side too. Within 6 months of its launch, Snapdeal's Seller Zone App has now 30% of its seller base of 100,000 sellers actively using it to sell their products.

The app has a number of new features like 'Scan and Sell' and 'Personalized Dashboard' to enhance the overall user experience.  The “Scan and Sell” feature simplifies and automates the system to reduce errors caused while manually listing products. It now enables the sellers to list their products for sale on the platform in less than 5 minutes with just a scan of the products barcode and keying in the pricing details. This feature has significantly simplified the process for sellers to list their products on the platform, thereby enabling them to maximize the impact of reach and scale offered by Snapdeal.

The 'Personalized Dashboard' is another feature which allows sellers to monitor the number of pending orders and manage inventory. Snapdeal uses data analytics to power this dashboard with insights that enable sellers to view best prices for their products and stocks based on competitors’ prices and provides a detailed analysis of performance ratings.

Ankit Khanna, Senior Vice President – Product Management, Snapdeal.com said, "In the last six months, we have seen a higher rate of activity on the Seller Zone App vis-à-vis activity through the PC and we expect that 70% of our sellers will start using the mobile app actively in the coming 3 -4 months. Mobile is a vital contributor to the growth of ecommerce and we are creating life changing experiences for our sellers through newer apps on the mobile platform."

The Seller Zone App is currently available on iOS and Android platforms with plans to roll out a Windows version already underway.
