Recession hit the India development center of this design software company late. In 2002, Adobe India was the least affected on almost all recession parameters–including not a single Adobe employee complaining of morale being hit. That changed in fiscal 2002-03, as the company ranked among the Top 5 on seven of the recession parameters, driving its overall ranking down from 8 to 16. In addition, employees seemed to have issues on two counts–training (quality, relevance and its contribution to growth) and the ability of managers to handle their direct reports. That showed up in preferred employer rankings in a way, with only 28.6% of its own employees naming it as their dream company (32% said Microsoft). The good news, however, is that employees are reasonably satisfied with their salary structure and very satisfied with the perks they get.

The better news–despite everything, 94% of them said they would definitely recommend the company to a close friend.
