11,050 Teaching Positions Open in DU and IIT Kharagpur and Other Central Universities

IIT Kharagpur, the University of Delhi, and the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Tiruchirappalli have the most teaching staff openings among central universities, IITs, and IIMs, according to information provided by the Ministry of Education in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday. According to statistics from the Ministry Of Education in the Rajya Assembly, IIT Kharagpur has 819 open teaching posts, the University of Delhi has 792, and IIM Tiruchirappalli has 51.

The nation has 20 IIMs, 23 IITs, and 45 regional colleges.

He continued, "The Ministry of Education has asked the institutes to fill the openings through special employment drives in mission mode, and most institutes have started the process. The ministry had instructed central higher education schools to complete all openings within a year, beginning on 5 September 2021, in August 2021.

The information provided to Lawmakers also revealed that, besides the open teaching staff positions, the University of Delhi has 2,391 non-teaching posts out of 3,280. In comparison, IIT Kharagpur has 559 available jobs for a total of 1,430. At IIM-Tiruchirappalli, 11 of the 34 non-teaching staff positions must be fulfilled.
