| Bangalore-based Planetasia.com Ltd had a satisfying year. It grew by 581% last fiscal to clock revenues of Rs 70.5 crore, even as productivity went up from Rs 5.2 to Rs 15 lakh per employee. Even as the market talked about heavy retrenchment, Planetasia increased its staff strength by almost two-and-a-half times from 198 to 470 people by the end of the financial year. Subsequently, though, it resorted to layoffs in June 2001. |
