HIGH PERFORMANCE COMPUTING

Driven by slew of strategic measures undertaken by Government of India such as National Supercomputing Mission (NSM) with a stated focus on HPC Research, Skill-set and Application Development, Smart Cities, Big Data & Analytics initiatives (Ex managing Big data such as Aadhaar). We envisage greater application of HPC in fields like Scientific Research and Discovery, Medical research and similar core scientific domains in 2016 and subsequent years.

DEEP LEARNING

Solving Artificial Intelligence problems require a wide range of technology, and Deep learning provides something akin to human intuition. Deep learning relies on neural networks (web of neurons) designed to analyze data at very high speeds. 2016 will witness many ground breaking technologies in areas of image and speech recognition. Deep Learning will also help in natural language processing (way humans speak).

VIRTUALISATION

We see technology growing and expanding to every user using a virtual desktop which has a graphic component in it. Virtualized Graphics will help organizations deliver accelerated desktop application to all their end users – No matter what device they use, their location for any application.

GAMING

We think 2016 will be a year for gaming. We are anticipating releases of numerous video games, including new installments for several well-received franchises such as Final Fantasy, Far Cry, Hitman, Mirror’s Edge etc. And now with easy availability of 4K displays, gaming enthusiasts will soon seek to upgrade their hardware. NVIDIA is also helping users enhance their experience by offering graphics optimization software better known as the ‘GeForce Experience’. The ‘GeForce experience’ uses NVIDIA cloud data center to provide optimal settings tailored for the user’s PC. ‘GeForce experience’ enables gamers with single-click settings optimization, collaborative gaming, game streaming and recording, drivers and support for all major game titles.

In 2016, we believe, 4K displays will start to become increasingly mainstream in gaming, driven by enthusiast demanding the highest quality experience, just as HD has increasingly become the de facto television standard. Another trend which is going to augment gaming experience is the rise of Virtual Reality (VR), especially as more gamers experience this new technology in India’s burgeoning Gaming Cafes, thus promoting e-sports as a whole industry. We also expect broadband to be increasingly available to consumers at cheaper rates.
