The US-based company Altair has inaugurated its new office in Chennai expanding its presence in India. With the establishment of a new office and accommodating over 100 employees Altair's has showcased its dedication toward fostering innovation and collaboration within the localized Indian engineering community.

Along with the opening of the new office, the firm has announced plans to expand its India team up to 1000 employees by the end of 2024. Altair, with its headquarters in the US, specializes in providing software and cloud solutions in simulation, high-performance computing, data analytics, and AI. 

Currently, Altair has 840 employees across five cities in India making it the second-largest company in terms of workforce outside the United States.

The recent inauguration of a new facility in Chennai, accommodating over 100 employees with a $1 million investment depicts Aitair's dedication to expand its operations in the country.

According to Vishwanath Rao, Altair India's Managing Director, India is among the company's top three markets, alongside with US and Germany. Altair serves to 1500 clients in India, with the customer base growing at an average rate of 50 -60 percent annually. The company's focus sectors in India include automotive, electronics, construction, consumer devices, and AI.

Vishwanath expressed his excitement about the opportunity presented by the expanded office and emphasized the company's commitment to meeting the evolving needs of customers in India. this expansion aligns with ALtair's broader growth strategy that is aimed at deepening its footprint in key markets and reinforcing its position as a leader in simulation-driven innovation.

The Chennai office will serve as a hub for Altair's engineering and technical teams, facilitating closer collaboration with customers and partners in the region. Altair aims to help businesses leverage its advanced simulation and optimization technologies for enhanced product development through its range of services including technical support, training, and consulting.
