The Department of Science & Technology (DST) has initiated the WISE-SCOPE Fellowship program for women scientists and technologists. The WISE-SCOPE fellowship stands for Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) - Societal Challenges with Opportunities (SCOPE) Fellowship program. This program offers a unique platform for individuals who have completed their Ph.D. to contribute their knowledge towards addressing pressing societal challenges.

The eligibility criteria for the fellowship include:

  • Candidates should not be in regular employment. Temporary employment in research or academia is acceptable, but candidates must be willing to leave their current position if selected for the fellowship.
  • Applicants must be between 27 and 60 years old at the time of submission.
  • Women scientists holding a Ph.D. in Basic or Applied Sciences, or equivalent degrees such as MD/MS/MDS, are eligible to apply for the fellowship.
