Netmagic grows its customer base to 25% with Fortinet solutions

Following the deployment of the Fortinet's 'FortiGate' consolidated security platforms in its datacenters; Netmagic has seen its managed security services customer base grow by 25 percent year-over-year, while the maintenance cost per customer fell by about 10 percent.

The reduced security breaches - which cut the number of incident tickets to be managed - also allowed the service provider to save on human resources.

Netmagic currently provides Fortinet powered security services to over 100 customers - covering a few thousand end-users across India.

Netmagic chose Fortinet's solutions for their comprehensive and well-integrated security functionality, ease of management and cost effectiveness.

These appliances will now be offered as part of Netmagic's comprehensive Managed Security Services portfolio to large, medium and small enterprises across India.

Fortinet's FortiGate appliances provide enterprise-class protection against network, content and application-level threats.

They give Netmagic an integrated security platform hosting the full range of security functions, including application firewall, VPN, Web filtering, IPS, antivirus and antispam. In properly planned and sized networks and appliances, these features can be turned on without degradation of firewall performance.

In 2009, Netmagic decided to do a technology refresh of its standalone application security and network security solutions, with an objective to improve its levels of threat coverage, ease management and lower costs. After evaluating multiple security solutions, Netmagic shortlisted Fortinet's FortiGate consolidated security platforms.
