Indian netizens group sends legal notice to DoT for not taking action against Telcos violating Net Neutrality principles

The INIEWA (Indian Netizens and Internet Entrepreneurs Welfare Association),  has initiated India’s 1st legal proceeding against Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Government of India ("DoT") for not banning the telecom companies / Internet service providers from rolling-out zero-rated plans in India. The notice says that the operators are in violation of the prevailing net-neutrality obligation(s) stipulated as licensing condition(s) under the licenses issued to the operators by DoT.

INIEWA is India's 1st non-profit association of Indian netizens / Internet entrepreneurs and companies formed to save India's net neutrality and securing India's interest interests. Currently, INIEWA has more than 10000+ members, which are growing substantially in number every day.
