Govt approves National Cyber Security Policy

The government has finally approved the National Cyber Security Policy that aims to create a secure computing environment in the country, and build capacities to strengthen the current set up with focus on manpower training.

The policy stresses on increasing India's indigenous capabilities in terms of developing the cyber security set up. The decision was taken by the cabinet committee on security in a meeting.

Besides having a secure computing environment, the policy seeks to build adequate trust and confidence in electronic transactions. The policy covers the entire spectrum of ICT users-individuals, small, medium and large businesses, government, and non-government entities.

The policy clears the way in creating a robust cyber security framework that will address all related issues over a long period. It certainly includes specific actions and programs to strengthen the security posture of country's cyber space.
